Dress your home to new clothes

Are you creative and good with your hands? Why not do it yourself? It is great fun and if you invite your children to join it is super family program. You will see how they enjoy it while you teach them some useful trick. To change the cases of your cushions is really simple.
What you will need is the new fabric (try to choose cheerful colours which suit your home), thread to match, a sewing-machine, scissors and a measuring tape.
1. Measure the original cases of your cushions, add 1 cm to each side and according to it cut the fabric out. Leave one side approx 1/3 longer where you can get them into the clothes. Make sure you cut bigger material, because this is how you can get the accurate size when you sew it in.
2. Pass the sides together inside out and turn the longer side back. Sew in three side but not the side where is the "pocket", this will be the place for the cushion to hide away. When you are ready just turn it over. Congratulations! You just have done your first cushion cover!

If you keen on sewing and interested in some variety of techniques you can try patchwork, which is working with patterns. To find out more CLICK HERE!
